Fabrizio Romano has provided an update on Arsenal in their pursuit of Manchester City ace Oleksandr Zinchenko.

The Gunners quickly switched their sights towards the 25-year-old after failing to land Lisandro Martinez.

And reports linking Arsenal and the City ace have been coming thick and fast over the past few days.

All seem to be pointing in the right direction, with the Gunners seemingly closing in on Zinchenko.

Romano’s latest update on Twitter has claimed that talks are “progressing well”.

He added that “Arsenal want to be fast on this deal” and Mikel Arteta “is pushing”.

However, Romano did stress that it’s still “work in progress”.

Arsenal have of course made one signing from City already this summer.

Gabriel Jesus will now be their main man at centre-forward.

And Zinchenko would be another superb signing for the Gunners.

Not only is he superb at left-back, but he can also play in midfield, regularly starring in that position for Ukraine.

This is just what Arteta needs – cover for Kieran Tierney, and also added quality in the middle of the park.

Zinchenko also knows the Premier League inside out, so in that respect, he’s arguably got the edge over Martinez.
