Arsenal have enjoyed a fruitful summer transfer window so far.

The Gunners have signed their top attacking target in Gabriel Jesus and have landed a gem in Fabio Vieira.

Arsenal have also brought in a top talent in Marquinhos and cover for Aaron Ramsdale in Matt Turner.

Now, the Gunners are about to make an “incredible” signing that fans should be buzzing about.

It’s surely only a matter of time before Arsenal announce the signing of Oleksandr Zinchenko.

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has confirmed the Gunners would be signing his player.

Before City’s friendly against Club America in Texas, Guardiola said Zinchenko would depart with the club’s best wishes.

“On behalf of the club [I would like to express] gratitude for the effort, how they behave on and off the pitch,” the Guardian quotes him as saying.

“It was nice with Alex yesterday because we could say goodbye properly.

Unfortunately with Raheem [Sterling] and Gabriel we could not do it because it was the summer time.

“But yesterday we could say goodbye to him and [he can] move on to Arsenal.”

Today, Fabrizio Romano tweeted that Zinchenko has penned his Gunners contract.

So it shouldn’t be long before the Gunners make an official announcement for the £32million man.

Zinchenko ticks plenty of boxes for Arsenal.

Firstly, he knows Mikel Arteta well, having worked with him at City.

The Arsenal boss knows what Zinchenko is like in the dressing room and on the training ground as well as in games.

In that sense, it’s not a gamble in the slightest in terms of how he should adapt to life at Arsenal.

“Phil Foden position”

Zinchenko also has plenty of experience in the Premier League.

Obviously he is a proven winner, having won the title four times, plus one FA Cup and four League Cups.

At 25 years of age, he’s very much in the prime of his career, so he’ll have plenty to give Arsenal.

And with the Gunners needing cover at both midfield and left-back, Zinchenko ticks both of those boxes for Arteta.

While Guardiola has mostly deployed Zinchenko at left-back, he usually features in midfield for Ukraine.

Indeed, Guardiola has previously gone on record to say it’s Zinchenko’s best position.

In April, the City boss said, as quoted by The Mirror: “In the pockets as the attacking midfielder.

“That is his position, definitely. When we brought Oleks from Ukraine, he was a No.10 – a Phil Foden position, a creative player.”

Guardiola has also deemed Zinchenko “incredible” in the past.
