New Barcelona recruit Antoine Griezmann has told Sky Sports that Arsenal striker Alexandre Lacazette is the only player he’d like to feature alongside.
The World Cup winner signed for the La Liga champions in a deal worth £107 million recently, according to BBC Sport.
Griezmann finally signed on the dotted line after a long drawn out saga, leaving Atletico Madrid after five years.
Arsenal’s 28-year-old striker, Lacazette, scored 19 goals and registered 13 assists last season.
Griezmann who has played in the same France team as the Gunners forward would relish the chance to play with him at club level.
He told Sky Sports: “As a player, I would like to play with Alexandre Lacazette. He’s a friend of mine off the field and we’ve played together for the national team.
“He’s got a lot of talent.”
These comments from Griezmann may have some Arsenal fans a little bit worried.
Lacazette has been loosely linked with a move to Barcelona previously and Griezmann is unlikely to be their last signing of the summer.
The Gunners haven’t really got going in the transfer window just yet and losing a big name player is something they can ill-afford.
Lacazette is a massive player for Unai Emery.
He struck up a sensational partnership with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang last season and the fans will hope that continues.
Arsenal supporters will hope that Griezmann is just issuing idle praise to a friend.
Barcelona have the financial clout and the Gunners will hope there is no interest from the La Liga champions.
