Arsenal and Tottenham will be disappointed they missed out on 5-goal Brooks

David Brooks joined Bournemouth from Sheffield United in the summer and has already proved to be an inspired signing.

Not many would have predicted the immediate impact that Brooks has had at Bournemouth.

Considering he was little more than a bit-part player with Championship side Sheffield United last season, Brooks was probably expected to be one for the future.

But he has now established himself as a regular in the Cherries’ starting line-up with some impressive displays.

Last summer, Bournemouth won the race for the 21-year-old, despite a number of top clubs chasing him.

According to Sky Sports News, Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United were keen on Brooks.

But having failed to make the grade at Manchester City, he wanted to move to a club where game time was more readily accessible.

However, his scintillating form in black and red will make Arsenal, Spurs and Man United regret not pushing harder for him.

With five goals and one assist this season, Brooks has proven to be a constant threat for Bournemouth.

According to Who Scored, Brooks also has made 11 successful dribbles, 289 passes and 11 key passes – further underlining his attacking menace.

The Wales international also has nine caps for his country already in his career and he is only going to get better with more playing time.

Bournemouth spent £11.5m on Brooks, as per Sky Sports News, but that price tag could rocket by next summer.
