Reported Tottenham Hotspur target Pablo Fornals scored as Villarreal eased their relegation worries with a point.

Fornals scored an outrageous and audacious opener in the 1-1 draw with bottom club Huesca. And that point moved Villarreal into 14th place – four places and five points above the relegation zone.

But the major talking point in the game was Fornals’ goal. The 23-year-old attempted a daring rabona volley and it ended up in the net.

In the 30th minute, Fornals popped up in the box and put Villarreal ahead with his rabona effort. Although it was not struck clearly, it showed his skill.

The twice-capped Spain international connected with the ball and it hit his standing leg before looping into the net.

Tottenham and Arsenal have both been linked with Fornals (The Express) ahead of the summer. And Fornals has impressed with five goals and six assists for Villarreal this season.

This goal brought back memories of Erik Lamela’s incredible rabona goal in the 2014/15 season. Back in October 2014, the Argentine midfielder scored a rabona against Asteras Tripoli.

Fornals and Lamela have both scored spectacular goals of that sort. And the pair could be team-mates at Spurs next season.
