Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur have been fairly quiet in the summer transfer window so far, with just one new signing having arrived in north London.

The Gunners are yet to get off the mark with regards to new recruits, while Spurs have made one signing, bringing Archie Gray to N17 from Leeds United.

Arsenal and Tottenham are both expected to be busy on the transfer front in the coming weeks as they look to strengthen their respective squads.

Both clubs fell just short of their goals for last season – the Premier League for the Gunners and a top-four finish for Spurs – and will want to go one better next term.

Now, both Arsenal and Tottenham are said to be considering a swoop for one of the most highly sought-after free transfers on the market.

Arsenal and Tottenham mulling over Adrien Rabiot approach

The player in question is Adrien Rabiot, who is now a free agent after leaving Juventus upon the expiry of his contract at the end of June.

The France international has been linked with a host of Premier League clubs in recent months, and now Tuttojuve has provided an update relating to both north London outfits.

According to the Juve-leaning outlet, Rabiot is ‘nearing’ – or ‘getting closer’ – to a Premier League switch.

Arsenal and Tottenham are said to have set their sights on the midfielder, as they need to bring in a new recruit that can be the ‘lungs’ of their team.

Both the Gunners and the Lilywhites are now mulling over a potential approach for the 29-year-old, who boasts an illustrious and trophy-laden CV.

Rabiot has also been linked with fellow Premier League giants Liverpool and Manchester United.

Who is Arsenal and Tottenham target Adrian Rabiot?

Rabiot is a 29-year-old midfielder with a very impressive CV, having impressed for Paris Saint-Germain and Juventus over the years.

At PSG, he won six Ligue 1 titles, four French Cups, five French League Cups and four French Super Cups.

Meanwhile, Rabiot lifted one Serie A title, two Italian Cups and one Italian Super Cup while at Juve. For France, he won the 2021 Nations League trophy.

Juve and France icon David Trezeguet sung the reported Arsenal and Tottenham target’s praises back in 2022.

He told Football Italia, via Juvefc.com: “He is world class, an extraordinary player. Now he will evaluate his options and will go back to being the important player he always was.”

With so many leading clubs after Rabiot, the world’s his oyster. It will be interesting to see which team he picks for his next project, and he would benefit each of those clubs that are after him.
