Marcus Edwards has posted a montage of his best moments for Portuguese side Vitoria this season on Instagram, as he excels in his first season away from Tottenham – and both Arsenal and Spurs players have commented on the attacker’s post.
England Under-20 international Edwards left Tottenham on a permanent basis last summer to join Europa League outfit Vitoria, after managing just one senior Spurs outing. Edwards also failed during loan spells with Norwich and Excelsior.
However, Edwards is now impressing in Portugal – having a hand in 13 goals during his 27 appearances for Vitoria. In his 17 league appearances, Edwards has scored four goals and created seven – while also scoring in the Europa League against Arsenal.
Edwards, who was likened to Lionel Messi by Mauricio Pochettino during the Argentine’s spell in charge at Spurs, posted a video on Instagram that included all of his best moments in a Vitoria shirt this season.
Football London have claimed that Edwards has a release clause in his Vitoria contract worth just £13.6million, and that Spurs will receive half of any future transfer fee. Spurs fans continue to keep a close eye on his development at Vitoria.
Edwards played alongside Tottenham star Ryan Sessegnon and Arsenal duo Joe Willock and Reiss Nelson during his younger years in the England youth set-up, and Kyle Walker-Peters in the Tottenham academy – and all four have commented.
