Arsenal and Spurs boost: Report claims Emi Buendia expects to move
Arsenal and Spurs are amongst the clubs who may be very pleased with The Athletic’s claim concerning Emi Buendia’s future.
Buendia is attracting loads of attention after another outstanding campaign in the Championship. He scored 15 goals and contributed 16 assists for Norwich.
As things stand, he is set to be playing in the Premier League once again next year. But there are a number of teams keen on luring him away.
The Athletic reports that Arsenal and Aston Villa want the Argentinian. Meanwhile, Sky Sports claimed late last week that Tottenham are also keen on the 24-year-old.
Norwich do not plan to let Buendia leave on the cheap. But The Athletic reports that the Canaries and Buendia accept that now is the right time to agree a move.
It is claimed that Buendia will cost more than £40 million.
TBR View: Arsenal or Spurs would not regret signing Buendia
It may look a gamble to many to offer over £40 million for Buendia, particularly with clubs unlikely to be splashing the cash too much this summer.
However, Buendia’s performances over the last few years suggest that he could be an amazing signing for the likes of Arsenal or Tottenham.
He has scored 24 goals and provided 35 assists in the league since moving to Carrow Road. That is an amazing return across three seasons.
And if his admirers decide against making a move in this window, it seems highly likely that his form in the Premier League will see his value swiftly increase further.
