There are a host of suitors for Benfica striker Darwin Nunez ahead of the summer transfer window, including Arsenal and Newcastle.
It was reported earlier this week that Arsenal Technical Director Edu has made contact with the representatives of Nunez, ahead of the summer transfer window.
And a report by the Telegraph claims that Newcastle are among the clubs interested in Nunez, along with Manchester United and West Ham.
Nunez is set for a huge Champions League date with Liverpool next month and it appears that the Uruguayan wants to remain in Europe’s elite competition next season.

That would put paid to Newcastle’s interest, as they embark on their first summer transfer window since the takeover, if Nunez sticks to it.
It also means that Mikel Arteta looks set to need to guide his Gunners side into the top four to have a chance of landing Nunez.
But the same Telegraph report claims that Arsenal are currently behind Atletico Madrid in the chase to sign the red-hot striker.
Benfica are apparently holding out for £60 million for their star man, although they are open to doing business to get the cash in early in the summer window.

Despite the reports of Edu making contact, the Telegraph say that Arsenal’s interest is not as advanced as United’s, as they do battle for that last remaining Champions League spot.
Atletico of course knocked United out of Europe this month and will face their local rivals Manchester City for a place in the last four.
Nunez and Atletico are independently trying to knock England’s two best teams out of Europe, and could be set to join forces next season.
Dumping City and Liverpool out of Europe would certainly make waves and break the Champions League wide open this term.
Arsenal and United have designs on being at that top table again next season, but have work to do if Nunez is to be part of their squads next term.
