The prospect of either signing for Arsenal or Chelsea is a privilege for any young player across the globe.

While both clubs find themselves in vastly different circumstances, the two London giants are up there amongst the most prestigious footballing institutions in the world.

When it comes to Arsenal, the draw of signing for them is that they are consistent title-challengers and for a youngster, witnessing breakouts stars like Myles Lewis-Skelly and Ethan Nwaneri play for them at senior level — which could instill them with the hope that they could break into their first-team as well.

As for Chelsea, while they might be eight points behind the Gunners in the title race, their entire project is built on the foundation of signing young players from around the world. Chelsea are eyeing a move for Gabriel Mec now as the South American market seems to appeal to them in particular.

Chelsea-bound Estevao is a midfielder and is set to join the first-team squad in the summer from Brazilian giants Palmeiras as well.

However, Arsenal signed Gabriel Martinelli from Ituano as a teenager, who has become an integral member of their squad over the years. Now, Caught Offside have reported that Arsenal and Chelsea have an interest in signing River Plate winger Ian Subiabre.

Arsenal and Chelsea eyeing Ian Subiabre

Subiabre, who can play both as a right-winger and an attacking midfielder is one of Argentina’s most talented up-and-coming attackers — much like his teammate Franco Mastantuono and Manchester City new-boy Claudio Echeverri.

Aged just 18, the teenager has just played five games at senior level for River.

However, Subiabre’s talent speaks for itself.

So much so that Arsenal and Chelsea are “monitoring” Subiabre’s development.

Both clubs have held talks to sign Subiabre as well but an offer is yet to be made. But the good news for Arsenal and Chelsea is that River Plate are ready to sell the highly-rated prospect, who has a release clause in his contract worth €30 million (£24.7 million) in his contract.

Liverpool and Manchester City are eyeing Subiabre as well, which speaks volumes of his potential.

Arsenal and Chelsea target Ian Subiabre compared to Bernardo Silva

For both sets of fans of the English giants, the question will be which player Subiabre profiles like.

Considering Arsenal and Chelsea seem ready to make a move for such an inexperienced player, they must rate him immensely highly.

Football Talent Scout Jacek Kulig claimed that Subiabre is similar to Bernardo Silva.

Kulig stated Subiabre is an “an excellent mix of a winger and advanced playmaker” and a player with “very high football IQ, good spatial awareness.”

While the young man looks like the real deal, which club out of Arsenal and Chelsea as well as Liverpool and Manchester City can snap up his signature will be intriguing to see panning out.
