'8/10': Arsenal talent lauded after he 'ran the Norwich defence ragged'
Arsenal ace Martin Odegaard has received plaudits from some media outlets following his display against Norwich.
The Gunners were in dire need of a win following a poor start to the Premier League season.
On Saturday, Arsenal finally got back to action after what seemed like an eternity as the international break played out.
But Mikel Arteta’s charges succeeded in getting a much-needed first victory, running out 1-0 winners over the Canaries.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang struck in the 66th minute at the Emirates, though the Arsenal camp had to wait for a lengthy VAR review.
The striker potentially looked offside when turning in from close range after Nicolas Pepe struck a post.
However, replays showed the ball had come off Norwich goalkeeper Tim Krul’s leg into his path.
Quite a few Arsenal players impressed on the day, with Odegaard coming for praise.
Football.london gave the £30million man 8/10 and wrote: “An exquisite second home debut for the Norwegian international who set the tone of Arsenal’s play throughout.
“Some beautiful balls over the top for Aubameyang and lovely switches of play that ran the Norwich defence ragged.”
Meanwhile, the Evening Standard gave him 7/10 and wrote: “Was bright and sharp, but his performance perhaps lacked a little bit of cutting edge. Promising signs though.”
Up next for Arsenal is a trip to Burnley next Saturday.
