Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain needs to leave Arsenal
There has been a lot of speculation about Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain’s future this season and it is beginning to look likely that he needs to leave Arsenal to reach the next stage of his development. He has performed well this season and taken the opportunities that have come his way, but he remains a squad player at the Emirates Stadium. Lucas Perez was preferred in the starting line-up this afternoon, despite being primarily a striker. It wouldn’t have been taken well by the winger, who is currently considering what the next move of his career should be.
At the age of 23, there is still a lot of time for Oxlade-Chamberlain and he hasn’t fully developed as a player. However, he can no longer be used as a bit part player at Arsenal, as he is now ready to become a regular in the Premier League. He needs regular minutes and if they aren’t going to come in North London, he needs to push for a move. Arsenal wouldn’t be weakened by his departure and could bring in a hefty fee before his contract runs out. He would improve the majority of sides in the league and it is now time for him to make that next step.
