Arsenal 1-0 Tottenham: Match Review and Player Ratings
Arsenal beat Tottenham 1-0 and being a Spurs fan I’m very disappointed. But for those who didn’t watch the match, how did the teams perform?
First of all Arsenal threatened early through a couple of Santi Cazorla free kicks but Hugo Lloris was on top form until Olivier Giroud put the Gunners ahead through a nice finish into the bottom corner.
Throughout the first half both teams kept possession well and both had chances. But there was worrying news for Arsenal, with 10 minutes until half time, when Jack Wilshire came off injured. Flamini came on to make his first appearance after re-signing for the club. At half time there is no doubt that Arsenal were the best team.
In the second half Tottenham improved and kept possession better, which limited Arsenals chances. Spurs gradually started to come into the game and get forward whilst creating more chances. There were a couple of penalty shouts but none were given.
Despite the loss Tottenham can take positives from the fact Erik Lamela impressed when he came on the field.
If I was to award man of the match it would be Laurent Koscielny because of his strong defensive performance, despite Olivier Giroud scoring the winner. Tottenham’s best player however was no doubt Andros Townsend.
Santi Cazorla- 7.0
All the ratings are just my opinion so leave comments on what you think they should be.
