Arne Slot got his first taste of silverware with Liverpool last Sunday, capping off a memorable debut season in charge.
It was a landmark day for the club, as they lifted their first Premier League title in front of a packed Anfield — something they were cruelly denied during their 2019/20 triumph due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Slot sensed it was going to be a special occasion the moment the team bus arrived, greeted by a sea of red as thousands of fans lined the streets to welcome their heroes.
And while the full-time celebrations were spectacular, Slot reserved special praise for the Liverpool supporters — not just for their passion, but for their restraint.

Arne Slot praises Liverpool fans for not invading the pitch
Full-time at Anfield last Sunday was marked by unforgettable scenes — from fans serenading players individually with their chants to Arne Slot starting a chant for his predecessor, Jurgen Klopp, in a touching gesture of respect.
None of these celebrations would have been possible if there had been a pitch invasion. And Slot made sure to thank them for staying in the stands and allowing the celebrations to unfold in full.
Speaking to Sky Sports, the Dutchman said: “Working here for 10 months, you can already get an idea what it means to the people if we were able to win it.
“But the moment the bus we were driving in (arrived), that was emotional. You could feel how much it would mean to them and from the moment we were in the stadium till we left the stadium, Yeah, I think we all saw how special it was.
“A big big compliment to our fans that there was no pitch invasion. And I think that was also the reason what made it so special after the game because the amount of times you see fans running on the pitch and then all of a sudden there is no celebration anymore, or only for 2 minutes.
“Yeah, I think every club around the world should watch this (celebration from Liverpool fans) and say ah this is the perfect way of celebrating it.”
Liverpool shatter a new Premier League record
The Reds clinched their 20th league title last Sunday with a dominant 5-1 win over Tottenham. What followed was an eruption of celebrations both inside and outside Anfield.
Throughout the game, the 60,000 fans in attendance generated mini earthquakes with their celebrations — the strongest tremor recorded at an impressive 1.74 on the Richter scale, as reported by BBC.
The party didn’t stop there. Celebrations continued deep into the night as supporters flooded the streets of Liverpool.
Online, the excitement was just as intense. Liverpool’s title win became the most engaged Premier League triumph ever on social media, racking up 71 million interactions across Sunday and Monday.
According to Liverpool’s official website, the club’s social media accounts saw nearly 1.1 billion impressions — a staggering figure that reflects the global scale of the celebration.
With the title secured, the focus shifts to next season, with Liverpool planning to win the Premier League again.
There are going to be changes expected in the squad going into the new season. With Trent confirming he is leaving Liverpool, a new right-back could become priority, while reinforcements are also being considered at striker and left-back.
It remains to be seen how Slot’s second season shapes up but the mood around Anfield is one of excitement and belief.
