Arne Slot has been the manager of Liverpool for a few months now, but there’s still an element of mystery around the Dutchman.
Indeed, after nine years of watching Jurgen Klopp at Liverpool, it almost feels as though there’s a stranger managing the club at the moment.
Of course, that will change as English football becomes more and more familiar with Slot, and that’s already beginning.
Indeed, during the Reds’ pre-season tour of the USA, a number of journalists on the Liverpool beat have been watching training, and some interesting observations have been made.
Speaking on the Blood Red Podcast, Lewis Steele has been discussing Slot’s recent training session, and the journalist noted how he noticed that Slot was consistently getting in Fabio Carvalho’s ear, trying to tell him where and when to run.

Arne Slot kept speaking to Fabio Carvalho during training
Steele shared what he noticed about the Liverpool manager.
“They did this drill and Slot was getting on the ball himself and he was always in the ear of the likes of Fabio Carvalho telling him where he wants him to be and where he has to make his runs,” Steele said.
“He kept shouting ‘patience, patience’. Which is a million miles away from what we’re used to with Jurgen Klopp.”
Fabio Carvalho could play a part at Liverpool
Fabio Carvalho might just have a role to play at Liverpool this season.
Arne Slot did prefer a 4-2-3-1 formation at Feyenoord that would utilise a number 10, and Carvalho is one of the only players in the squad who can play in that attacking midfield role.
Carvalho has been impressing in pre-season, scoring in Liverpool’s win against Arsenal on Tuesday night, and with Slot paying special attention to the £7m man in training, there could just be a role for the youngster this season.
Carvalho had an impressive loan at Hull City last season, and now, the midfielder is certainly a player to keep an eye on as pre-season preparations begin to conclude.
