Arsenal fans have been reacting on Twitter over the last few days after Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang broke his scoring duck to net for Gabon this week.
The Gunners skipper netted the winning goal in the African Cup of Nations as Gabon saw off Gambia in a crucial qualification game.
For Arsenal fans, it was a welcome relief to see their star striker hit the back of the net, after seeing him struggle this season in the Premier League in terms of hitting the back of the net.
Aubameyang, too, will be delighted to get going again. Interestingly, the 31-year-old played up front as a central striker. That is something Mikel Arteta has rarely done but some Arsenal fans have been calling for him to do for a while.
And it didn’t go unnoticed this Thursday either, with Aubameyang netting his goal from that very position for his country.
Twitter then, was awash with comments from Gunners fans asking their manager to take note.
Arteta are you watching from far if not close rage ?

Oh he scored a goal playing in his best position? Shocked! Wow maybe Arteta might consider playing him in his best position?

Stop playing him LW when we have players that can play there. Especially for a forward that misses tap ins 😒
