Mauro Icardi
Still only 23 years old, it feels as though Icardi has been around for decades.
The Inter Milan striker is; much like Mario Balotelli, a troubling player to manager. His attitude can be flaky and his form is more likely to dip and trough than it is to plateau at European supremacy. However, Icardi; if managed correctly, will become one of the best marksmen in Europe, of that there is almost no doubt.
This season, he has been significantly less prolific than the aforementioned Higuain, but his age might be the difference that makes the Blues swoop for him. Only 12 goals this year is a little disappointing, yet his 1.7 shots per game is significantly below the average of Europe’s most productive; Higuain for example has over 5 shots per game. Could Chelsea be tempted by this maverick figure?
