Are these the top 5 candidates to be the permanent Chelsea manager?

It will soon be that time again when multi-billionaire Roman Abramovich chooses another victim to fill the hot seat at Stamford Bridge. The sacking of Jose Mourinho may not have been a popular decision with the fans but recent results suggest the Russian may have made the right decision bringing Guus Hiddink in as interim manager. The Dutchman is yet to taste defeat in his second spell at the club although they came mightily close against Manchester United.

Their escape from what would have been Chelsea’s first defeat in 11 games was down to a resurgent Diego Costa who has flourished under new management whereas before his form had become stagnant under Mourinho. So who is the right man to lead Chelsea back to the Premier League summit? We look at the top five possible Managers to be in charge come the start of the 2016/17 season.

Guus Hiddink

Let’s start with the man himself Guus Hiddink. This is his second spell in charge of the Blues and if he could replicate the performance of his first spell in charge, then he will become a very attractive possibility. Hiddink led Chelsea to FA cup glory in the 2008/09 season when he took temporary charge but he failed to make the cut for the next season. Hiddink has a long list of previous managerial positions with time spend as head coach of international sides such as South Korea, Australia, Russia and Turkey. During his two spells at PSV Eindhoven he won 11 titles as well as the European Cup in 1988. The Dutchman has pedigree and if Chelsea continue to rise up the table and performing like they are then it would be foolish to let the man go!
