Joe Allen – Stoke
Joe Allen has carried his fine form from the European Championships, where he starred for Wales, to windy Stoke-on-Trent, where he’s been a revelation for Mark Hughes’ team. After a dodgy start to the campaign, where they won none of their first seven fixtures, Joe Allen has been a driving force behind their improved form, with the Potters currently sitting ninth in the table.
Having left Liverpool for showing a lack of creativity, he’s been the complete opposite for the Potters and is currently their best midfielder, controlling the tempo of most games, and adding a bit of flair to the side as they continue to trouble the top sides in the country. For a relatively small player, Allen is punching above his weight and fearlessly puts his body on the line for his side, having a high success rate for winning aerial duels and putting himself into challenges – an aspect he rarely showed while with Liverpool.
And in addition to that, he keeps the side ticking. With him having an off day, expect the rest of the playing side to have the same. Allen is finally showing the form that earned him a prestigious move to Merseyside, and with the level of displays he has shown over the course of the campaign, expect him to be in the papers all over again come the end of the season.
