Are these Leicester City and Everton stars in line for Premier League awards?

4. Harry Kane

Another player propelling his team above their expectations this year has been Harry Kane, going from strength to strength after the previous campaign in the top flight. After winning the Young Player of the Year award last time out, Kane could be in with a shout of the main award this season. His goal-scoring touch looked to have deserted him in the early months but has come alive in the second half of the season, dispelling any thoughts he was a one season wonder. Tottenham are the closest challengers to Leicester City for the title, and they would be over the moon with Champions League football let alone the Premier League crown, however with Kane in their ranks, the sky might well be the limit.

5. Mesut Özil

The German is on course to break Thierry Henry’s assist record of 20 in a season and has had one of his best ever league campaigns on a football pitch. When he first signed for the North London outfit from Real Madrid, he struggled to fit in and have the desired effect on the field that Arsene Wenger wanted, but now he is the star man. Arsenal’s title bid may have collapsed but take nothing away from the play-maker he has been immense this year.

The Young Player of the Year award does not carry quite the same weight as the main trophy, but still remains an honour to win. Deserved nominees would be the likes of Anthony Martial, without whom Manchester United could well be even further off the pace this season. Harry Kane has a good chance of defending his crown while Jack Butland has impressed as a young English keeper and Romelu Lukaku has had a great scoring season.

As for the manager, you cannot really look past Claudio Ranieri and Mauricio Pochetino, as both have made their teams into a force that the usual big teams just cannot control. My vote goes to whoever sees their team to the trophy.

My predictions for the main three awards are as follows: Riyad Mahrez, Romelu Lukaku and Claudio Ranieri. Leave your thoughts on the winners in the comments below the article or on Twitter @TBRFootball .
