These days Tottenham Hotspur are a rather different proposition to the Spurs of old.

At the time of writing the club are sitting second in the league, playing some nice football and building an air of confidence around White Hart Lane.

Most Spurs fans are still unsure of their title credentials, and perhaps overly modest of the side Mauricio Pochettino has put together.

Regardless of the role the Lilywhites will play in this most exciting title race, there is the little matter of a European Championships this summer across the Channel.

A Spurs legend of old will be present, as Gareth Bale’s Wales qualified for their first major competition since 1958.

What is less obvious is how much of the English Spurs contingent will be pulling on the white shirt of England.

Here are eight Tottenham players that could feature in Roy Hodgson’s squad this summer and/or beyond – some obvious, others less so.
