4. More familiar faces
Last season may have been more explosive in the league’s rapid acquisition of well known talent, but this year there is still quite a lot of familiar faces for British fans to look out for. The Galaxy have added to their already star-studded cast by signing Ashley Cole and former Manchester City midfielder Nigel De Jong. Look throughout the league and you can constantly be reminded of the days of English football past, with the likes of Kevin Doyle, Nigel Reo-Coker and Owen Coyle all plying their trade across the pond, while Shaun Wright-Phillips has joined his brother Bradley at the Red Bulls!
Arsenal and Manchester City fans may also want to keep an eye out on the fortunes of New York City this season given that they will be under the command of Patrick Vieira on his first step of a prospective managerial career.
5. It’s on during the summer!
This may sound a glib point but its one that shouldn’t really be underestimated. Everyone knows the summer is generally awful, the long hours watching Premier League years 1994/1995 and constantly refreshing your Twitter feed just to see a transfer rumour you know in your heart will never come true. Yes, there are the Euros this season to fill the gap, but that still leaves one whole month of non-competitive action until the start of the Premier League
So instead of trawling your way through dodgy websites just to watch a glitchy stream of your club playing the best team in Indoneisa, would it not be better to have a competitive and exciting football league to watch? Well the good news is that MLS runs right up until December.
