Manchester United
Yet again, Jose Mourinho has managed to do something Arsene Wenger seems incapable of. He has arrived at his new club, identified the areas of weakness and signed players right through the spine of the team. Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Eric Bailly are going to strengthen Mourinho’s side and help them challenge for the title.
The Portuguese manager has already stated that he wants to win everything with United and as Paul Pogba is supposedly on his way to complete the quartet, there is no reason for Manchester United to miss out on the top four this season.
Mourinho and Wenger most certainly do not see eye to eye, so he would love nothing more than to be the man who knocked Arsenal out of the top four.
Arsenal last won the league in 2004 and have barely challenged for the title in the 12 years since then. Finishing in the top four is taken for granted by the North London side because no matter how poor their season is, they always manage to secure Champions League qualification for the next season.
Wenger and his team need a serious wake-up call because their nonchalant attitude is wearing thin. Other teams around them are making big signings, while Arsenal are struggling with injuries before the season has even begun and their chief executive Ivan Gazidis is claiming that they don’t have as much money to spend as their rivals.
The Gunners have become too predictable, both in the transfer market and throughout the course of the season, and something’s got to give.
