The undoubted favourites, for many, it could be said that the Europa League is Manchester United’s to lose. Undoubtedly the biggest club in the competition in terms of history, stadium and fan base, with Jose Mourinho at the helm, they have the strongest squad and manager to boot too.

However, injuries could have their say with the likes of Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Marcos Rojo and Juan Mata all looking as though they may not make a return to action until next season, and Celta Vigo will look to take advantage of United’s lack of defensive depth with Chris Smalling and Phil Jones temporarily unavailable.

United should have enough to see out their campaign and secure a Champions League finish, but they can ill afford any kind of arrogance or Premier League distraction, if they seek to reach the top four, which could see them slip up against their misleadingly strong competitors.
