Liverpool are reportedly interested in signing Lyon midfielder Houssem Aouar.
According to RMC Sport, the Reds are interested in bringing the Lyon-born playmaker to Anfield, with Chelsea and Barcelona both also interested.
Aouar has really caught the eye for the French outfit over in Ligue 1 this season.
He appears to be flourishing after spending some time with the Lyon B side first, after progressing through the club’s academy.
He is now hot property, and could well be on the move in January for the summer.
Liverpool’s replacement for Lallana?
Jurgen Klopp has a lot of options in midfield at present, and he surely must be looking to trim his squad a bit to make room for more additions.
One such player who could be at risk of the chop is Adam Lallana.
The former Southampton man has struggled with injuries over the past year, and has struggled to make an impact for the Reds when he has played.
He has come in for a fair amount of stick, and there is certainly a feel as though his time at Anfield could be coming to an end.
Aouar is a similar type of player to Lallana, and there would be no need for both. The 20-year-old is technical and can operate as a box-to-box type or a number 10.
He’s even versatile enough to play from the left.
By targeting him, Liverpool definitely cast further doubt on Lallana’s future at the club.
