2 – Frank De Boer and Dennis Bergkamp
The Ajax managerial partnership of Frank de Boer and Dennis Bergkamp have been credited with bringing the glory days back to Ajax. De Boer has been at the helm since 2010 where he has stuck to the Ajax principles and done his best to reinvigorate the squad by bringing “Total Football” back to the club, and with great success.
Dutch managers have not got the best record when it comes to managing in England. Louis Van Gaal is the latest to try his hand at it and thus far has flattered to deceive at Manchester United. Another question mark against De Boer would be that he is yet to prove himself in one of the three big European leagues but you cannot doubt his eye for talent.
Dennis Bergkamp became De Boer’s Assistant Manager in 2011, there is not one Arsenal fan that would not welcome him back with open arms. Bergkamp has gone down in Arsenal history as a legend and rightly so, but aside from this he has also proved himself as more than an able deputy to De Boer. A management pairing is not something that normally heralds success but the former Dutch international stars seem to be on the same page. It would depend if Arsenal have faith in them being able to translate that to the English game.
De Boer has a win percentage of 60% from 255 games.
