Newcastle United could reportedly make a late attempt to sign Everton midfielder Amadou Onana, though sales must first be made.
The Magpies have failed to do much business this January in large part due to FFP restrictions, with Newcastle in a position where players must be sold first before any new signings can be conducted.
As a result, Eddie Howe’s side have failed to bring in any new players, though this could change in the final days of the transfer window if a sale or two can be made.
And according to journalist Joel Bland, Everton’s Onana is one player Newcastle could attempt to sign, with the Toffees in a very similar position to the St. James’ Park side.
The Merseyside club have been limited by what they can spend this January due to Premier League restrictions, with Everton also needing to sell before they can buy.
And for Newcastle, that means the likes of Onana are now available for the right price, though reports of a £60m valuation could put the Magpies off from selling the midfielder this month.
Newcastle might have to wait until the summer to sign Amadou Onana

This January transfer window has been one of the quietest on record, with previous spending finally catching up to essentially every Premier League club this winter.
As a result, plenty of business could now be pushed forward to the summer, and this might soon be the case for Newcastle if they can’t find the funds needed to legally sign Onana this month.
Indeed, a number of top Newcastle players have been linked with a move away from Tyneside this month, yet no major sales are yet to happen for the Toon heading into the final few days of the window.
And for Howe, this means that the Newcastle manager might have to wait until the summer to complete a move for Onana, who could be eager to jump ship at Everton if the Toffees again endure a rough season.
