Reported West Ham and Tottenham Hotspur transfer target Dani Ceballos has told Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane in no uncertain terms that he wants to leave the club.
It seems the feeling is mutual.
As reported by Diario AS, Ceballos had a brash response to Zizou when informed that the Frenchman had no plans to use him at the Bernabeu next season.
“No problem, boss – I didn’t want to carry on working with you, either.”
So it is clear that Ceballos is ready to leave Real Madrid this summer.
El Desmarque reported Tottenham as interested earlier this month. They suggested Ceballos was on a long-list of targets for the summer with a £45 million asking price mentioned. Of course, it appears that Tottenham have the likes of Tanguy Ndombele and Giovani Lo Celso higher up the transfer shortlist than the Spaniard.
West Ham have also been linked with the player since April. The Mirror reported that Ceballos was an ambitious target for the Hammers this summer. After the recent arrival of countryman Pablo Fornals, it would be interesting to see if that interest is still present.
Ceballos, who scored a screamer in the European Under-21 Championships this week, is clearly available. So Tottenham and West Ham certainly have a chance of securing the player should they wish this summer.
