Spurs manager Antonio Conte has described Harry Kane as a “really good player” who is nonetheless in need of improvement.

Tottenham swiftly brought the Italian manager in as a replacement for Nuno Espirito Santo.

Spurs began the season well under the Portuguese but things went pear-shared after the September international break.

One of the main issues Tottenham have had this season is Kane’s relatively poor form in front of goal.

The Tottenham talisman only has one Premier League goal to his name, though he has scored seven times in all competitions.

Conte famously got Romelu Lukaku firing on all cylinders while at Inter Milan, so fans will be hoping he can do the same with Kane.

Speaking ahead of the trip to Everton, the new Spurs boss told football.london: “We’re talking [about] an important player not only for Tottenham, but also for the national team.

“Harry is a really good player and for sure we have to work with him but with all the players to improve this situation.

“I’ve seen in a few days that we need to work a lot to improve many aspects – for every single player not only one, two or three.”

If any manager can get Kane back to his best, it’s Conte, one of the best managers in world football.
