Respected journalist Fabrizio Romano has took to Twitter to post comments from Antonio Conte that state Tottenham won’t be signing Christian Eriksen.
Spurs have been linked with a move for their former midfielder in the past few weeks. Eriksen has been out of favour at Inter Milan but did score last night for the Italian side.
Tottenham are also believed to be considering moving Dele Alli on to PSG. However, Daniel Levy is thought to be hesitant about the deal with no replacement midfielder in the pipeline.
Romano, then, took to Twitter to post his update on Eriksen’s situation and it’s something which could well impact the deal for Alli.
Antonio Conte to Rai Sport: “Christian Eriksen will stay here at Inter. He’s not leaving because we’re not signing any player, so we won’t let him leave the club. I’m so happy for his goal”. No Tottenham and no Leicester, Conte says. 🇩🇰 #Inter #THFC #LCFC

With Eriksen now looking likely to stay in Italy, it means Spurs’ search for a midfielder is narrowed further.
Eriksen had been deemed someone who had a distinct chance of making the move to north London. However, Conte’s comments seemingly end that speculation, barring a dramatic late window twist.
TBR View: Alli deal in jeopardy? Spurs will need to act fast now
The deal for Eriksen was probably the easiest of all to get done at one point. Barring his wages, Levy already knows the player and it a loan move would have been easier to sort than someone brand new to replace Alli.
The Spurs supremo now has a big decision to make. Does he allow Alli to leave and not replace? Or does he push the boat out and bring someone in who isn’t Christian Eriksen?
It’s certainly a big call to make and one which could well have a big impact on how Spurs’ season pans out from now.
