It’s back to Premier League action for Tottenham and their talisman Harry Kane this weekend, and his manager, Antonio Conte, has been singing his praises in his pre-match press conference.

Conte is looking forward to seeing his side take on Leeds United following a positive enough start to life as Spurs manager. The Italian has been well received among fans and players so far.

However, Conte knows that a win will be expected this weekend. Leeds are not in the best of form, and Tottenham have a number of players coming into form themselves.

One of those players is striker, Harry Kane. The England skipper netteted seven times in two international games this week, and is on course to become England’s all-time record goalscorer by some margin.

And Conte, speaking about Kane ahead of Tottenham against Leeds, was full of praise for his striker.

“We are talking about a world class striker. He is an important player for us. To score is a boost for him. And I’m very happy because I have the opportunity to know him much more. I understood that he’s a top player in many aspects,” Conte told Football.London.

“He wants to train very, very hard and improve. That is fantastic for me because my first task is to improve the players, bring the players to another level. Another step. In this team, I think many players can do this.”

TBR’s View: Harry Kane playing well is huge for Tottenham

Despite all the ramble in the summer about a potential move to Manchester City, there is absolutely no doubt that Tottenham are better when Harry Kane is playing well.

As Conte says, this is a world-class striker. Kane’s form for England has come at a perfect time for Spurs.

If Kane can carry that into the Premier League, then Conte will be able to focus on the other issues in his squad, knowing goals will come via Kane.
