It was some game for Tottenham and Antonio Conte at Bournemouth today, as they fought from two nil down to beat the Cherries.
A second half rally from Conte’s men saw Ryan Sessegnon, Ben Davies, and then Rodrigo Bentancur all score. It saw the away end at The Vitality go bananas and in the context of the season, could prove a massive three points.
Tottenham had been desperate to pick up a win after recent poor form. And when Bentancur’s winner went in, the feeling of relief must have been overwhelming for Conte. Indeed, as was pointed out on Twitter by the respected SpursWeb account, Conte did something rather strange after the goal.

It appears Conte disappeared straight down the tunnel for a moment right after Bentancur’s goal. What he felt the need to go into the tunnel for remains a mystery. However, he did return to the touchline moments later to carry on with his coaching duties.
Did Conte simply need the toilet? Did he go down for a mini celebration of his own? We don’t know, but it would be interesting to get Conte’s thoughts on the matter at some point.
TBR’s View: Conte may have been overcome with emotion
Football is a funny game at times. After being robbed of the joy of a last minute winner against Sporting, Conte was more subdued than normal when Bentancur scored.
However, with the goal confirmed, there is every chance Conte nipped into the tunnel for a moment with himself to celebrate.
Of course, there might be nothing in this at all. Conte might have just had business to attend to or simply wanted to get out of the way for a quick moment. At the end of the day, Tottenham got the three points and you’d imagine that’s all he cares about.
