Antonio Cassano has Inter Milan plan, urges Antonio Conte to sign Arsenal star

Antonio Cassano has claimed on Instagram – as quoted by Italian outlet Goal – that Inter Milan should consider signing Arsenal striker Alexandre Lacazette and land the Frenchman using the money received for Mauro Icardi.

Inter boss Antonio Conte is expected to be very busy when the summer window opens. Indeed, Lautaro Martinez has been linked with a big-money move to some of Europe’s biggest clubs, including Manchester City.

Replacing the young Argentine could prove to be difficult, but Inter are expected to bring in a big cash windfall – given Martinez is likely to cost his £97million release clause, and The Guardian claim Icardi’s permanent clause is worth £59million.

Given they would have more than £150million from the sales of those two players, Cassano has urged Inter to bring in Edinson Cavani on a free transfer and Arsenal’s French striker Lacazette – despite Inter being linked with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

“Lautaro is very strong but I would sell him. Inter bought him for 20million, but can sell him for above 100million. Then I would bet on Cavani. His contract is about to expire and for Conte, he would be perfect,” Cassano said.

“In addition, there will also be the money from the sale of Icardi and with that I would go to Arsenal to take Lacazette. Lautaro will become even stronger, but I would say ‘it was a pleasure’ “.

TBR’s view – Arsenal should be willing to sell Lacazette

If the price is right. Lacazette has struggled this season and under Mikel Arteta, the Spaniard has even preferred Eddie Nketiah at times during the second half of the campaign. Gabriel Martinelli is also coming through the ranks, and has shone this term.

He has failed to show his best form this season. If a decent offer for Lacazette comes in for the Lyon star – in the region of £40million – Arsenal should sanction an exit for the France international.
