Central midfielders may well be the main focus among the Premier League’s elite once again this summer.
Arsenal could do with a new midfielder to partner Declan Rice, Manchester United need to replace Casemiro, while Tottenham need that lynchpin in the middle of the park to add more security and stability.
So, who should these teams go after? Well, during a discussion on Five, Anton Ferdinand has suggested one potential signing for Tottenham.

The Premier League midfielder Tottenham could sign
Ferdinand spoke about Joao Palhinha alongside the show’s hosts, claiming that he’d be a decent signing for either Tottenham or Man United.
“Who do you (Man United) want?” Ferdinand asked.
“I want Palhinha from Fulham, he’s cold,” The host said.
“Yeah, he gets about, that’s someone you (Spurs) could get actually, but where does he go to Tottenham or United?” Ferdinand said.
Joao Palhinha would be perfect for Tottenham
This could be just what the doctor ordered at Tottenham.
The north London club have such a leaky defence despite having two absolutely fantastic centre-backs in the shape of Micky Van de Ven and Cristian Romero, and that’s due to a lack of midfield cover.
Yves Bissouma has been up and down all season, and while Pape Matar Sarr looks like a fantastic prospect, he’s not the best in terms of being a defensive screen for Spurs.
This would be a fantastic signing for Tottenham. Palhinha is an all-action, all-energy midfielder who absolutely loves a tackle, but getting him out of Fulham won’t be easy.
Indeed, the Whites won’t be keen to lose their star man, and if he is to go, he’d surely want to sign for a club that is guaranteed Champions League football after coming so close to signing for Bayern Munich last season.
This could be one to keep an eye on as the £17m man will likely be on the move this summer.
