Chelsea can boast some of the best young talents on the planet.
The Blues own the likes of Estevao – who they think is similar to Barcelona wonderkid Lamine Yamal – as well as the likes of Kendry Paez, Geovany Quenda and Mike Penders, not to mention stars like Cole Palmer and Moises Caicedo, who are still only 23.
However, Bournemouth No.24 Antoine Semenyo overlooked all of these talents when asked to name who he feels is the greatest young footballer in the world by Scout in Eurasia, instead opting for another prodigy owned by Chelsea in Dastan Satpaev.
Antoine Semenyo hails Dastan Satpaev
Back in February, Chelsea completed the signing of the 16-year-old in a €4m (£3.4m) move from Kairat Almaty, which is a record deal for a player out of the Kazakh Premier League.
Satpaev is set to officially move to Chelsea when he turns 18 in August 2026.
The teenager largely remains an unknown quantity across Europe, but Semenyo rates him highly.
When asked to select football’s current greatest youngster, the Ghana international said: “It’s a tough question. There are a lot of talented players, but there’s one guy who recently signed a contract with Chelsea, I (can’t recall) what his name is. (Satpaev?) Yes! Yeah, yeah.”
The Kairat Almaty No.9 can already boast three appearances for Kazakhstan, while impressively scoring eight goals and providing four assists in just 15 Kazakh Premier League outings last season – evidently, Chelsea do have a genuine wonderkid on their hands.
Chelsea made approach to sign Antoine Semenyo
In addition to hoovering up young talents, Chelsea also need some seniority in the side, and actually showed an interest in signing the 25-year-old Bournemouth star earlier this summer.
TBR Football understand Chelsea held talks about signing Semenyo recently, but after deciding not to take discussions any further for now – a stance Arsenal also adopted – he chose to sign a new contract with Bournemouth.
