Ben White has posted on Instagram for the first time as a Leeds United player after agreeing a season-long loan from Brighton & Hove Albion – and Seagulls winger Anthony Knockaert replied to his upload.
White, 21, joins the club after an excellent second half to the season with League One side Peterborough United. He starred for The Posh, making 15 appearances and developing the reputation as a ball-playing centre-back.
That is said to be one of the main reasons why Leeds have brought a somewhat untested youngster to Elland Road on loan in White, with Marcelo Bielsa said to be a fan of how he plays when in possession.
White told fans that he is “happy” to have signed a new deal at Brighton before joining Leeds, and French winger Knockaert replied by wishing the defender the best of luck at Elland Road.

TBR’s view – White deal shows Bielsa has realised Leeds mistake
Last season, Leeds really lacked cover at centre-back. Only Liam Cooper and Pontus Jansson were recognised first-team centre-backs, and both suffered injury and picked up suspensions throughout the campaign.
Gaetano Berardi, Luke Ayling and even Kalvin Phillips played out of position at centre-back at times, while youngster Aapo Halme was promoted to the first team for a run of games.
Bringing White to Elland Road shows Bielsa has realised Leeds need depth if they are to prolong their push for Championship promotion come May 2020.
