Anthony Gordon posted a message on social media Tuesday afternoon to express his delight over signing a new contract at Everton.

The 19-year-old is an attacker to come out of the club’s excellent academy system and he’s committed his long-term future to them, which comes after his breakthrough season into the first-team squad.

Gordon has signed a five-year contract (official website) to extend his stay at Goodison Park and will now be looking to make himself a regular in the plans of manager Carlo Ancelotti.

The Liverpool-born winger featured in the last 10 consecutive Premier League games of last season to show he’s not a flash in the pan and will hope that momentum carries on going into the new 2020/21 campaign.

He uploaded a message on Instagram after signing his fresh deal and it received a response from Liverpool’s Curtis Jones, who is a young emerging talent on the other side of Merseyside trying to force his way into Jurgen Klopp’s side.

TBR’s View:

Everton’s season came to a stale end in the last few months as they weren’t fighting against relegation or pushing for Europe, but Gordon was at least one positive the fans could enjoy.

The teenager wide man is full of trickery and energy, something he showed with minutes in the senior side.

He’s shown at youth level he’s a big goal threat too and it’s clear that Everton have big faith in him to go on to become an important player for them.
