Arsenal star Thomas Partey may be shining for the Gunners, but he hasn’t quite delivered for Ghana at the 2022 World Cup.
The Arsenal midfielder helped the Black Stars reach the Qatar tournament with his goal in the qualifying playoff second leg against Nigeria in March.
Partey had seemingly redeemed himself after a poor display in the first leg between the two West African nations.

However, the Gunners ace wasn’t able to build on that display and on his impressive form for Mikel Arteta’s side.
On Friday, Ghana finished bottom of Group H as they fell to a 2-0 defeat to Uruguay.
Giorgian de Arrascaeta bagged a first-half brace for the two-time world champions.
In the end, neither nation qualified for the last 16. South Korea pipped Uruguay thanks to their 2-1 win over Portugal.
Ghana’s win over South Korea gave them hope after their loss to Portugal, but sadly it wasn’t to be.
‘He failed to perform’
And Partey once again received criticism from the Ghanaian press for his efforts.
Pulse Sports gave Partey just 4/10 and wrote: ‘Another woeful performance from the Arsenal star for the Black Stars.
‘Thomas Partey continuous poor displays for the national team continued in such a crucial game.’

Meanwhile, Football Ghana gave the £45million man a 5/10.
‘Partey’s struggle for Black Stars continued as he failed to perform in the biggest game of his career,’ they wrote.
Though his World Cup campaign hasn’t gone to plan, Partey can now look forward to a Premier League and Europa League tilt when he returns to Arsenal.
