Tottenham have reportedly been offered the chance to sign Atletico Madrid attacker Angel Correa.
According to Sky Sports, the La Liga giants are close to securing a move for Spurs defender Kieran Trippier and have offered up their forward Correa in return.
It is understood that Correa has no future with Atletico and AS understands that Spurs are admirers of him.
Tanguy Ndombele has arrived at the North London club as a high-profile addition in this summer transfer window, but the Atletico attacker may be a shrewd target if Spurs chase up a move for him.
The 24-year-old has carved out a decent career for himself in Spain and a switch to the Premier League now could be the making of him.
Correa is a versatile attacker that can play in a central forward role or out wide right, which is something he’s often done for Atletico.
He was directly involved in nine goals in 49 games across all competitions last season and regularly made an impact off the bench.
The Argentine has a tremendous work-rate and that’s why a link up with compatriot Mauricio Pochettino could be sensible for all involved.
Spurs boss Pochettino has a knack of getting the best out of youngsters and there is a small South American contingent already in the squad.
Correa could be a dream for the Spurs manager, as he could fit nicely into his squad with his versatility and has room to get better.
