Ange Postecoglou still hasn’t made his mind up on £25m Spurs player

Ange Postecoglou has been at Tottenham long enough now to judge pretty much every player in his squad.

The Australian has now spent more than six months analysing all of his players, and it’s fair to say that he knows who his key men are.

However, according to Sky Sports’ Lyall Thomas, speaking on Last Word on Spurs, there’s one Tottenham player that Postecoglou still wants to analyse further – Ryan Sessegnon.

Indeed, according to Thomas, Postecoglou wants Sessegnon to stay beyond the end of the January transfer window, and he wants to have a proper look at him after he spent most of this season out injured.

Postecoglou wants to look at Sessegnon

Thomas shared what he knows about the £25m man.

“Listen, at this moment in time I think he’s more likely to stay than go anywhere at this point. I understand that Ange wants him to stay actually and he wants to have a proper look at him and see if he can get some gametime out of him and see if he fits into what he wants to do,” Thomas said.

Needs to get fit

Postecoglou hasn’t made his mind up on Sessegnon yet, and that’s because he’s simply not been able to watch him play or train regularly.

The former Fulham man has spent almost the entire season out injured, and while he’s been closing in on a return for some time, there’s been setback after setback in recent weeks.

Sessegnon is a talented player. After all, he’s a former Championship Player of the Year, but it’s impossible to see where he’s at right now if he’s not able to get fit and stay fit.

Sessegnon still has a chance to impress Postecoglou, but he needs to prove he’s reliable first because, as ever, the best ability in football is availability.
