Ange Postecoglou finally guided Tottenham to a Premier League victory in N17 by defeating Manchester United on Sunday.
Not since the start of November have Spurs won a Premier League game on home soil, but a strike from James Maddison in the 13th minute ended that dreadful run and moved Tottenham up to 12th in the table.
In fairness, the north Londoners have been severely unfortunate when it comes to injuries, losing enough players to make an XI which could viably compete in the Premier League, including the likes of Guglielmo Vicario, Micky van de Ven, Cristian Romero, Destiny Udogie and Dominic Solanke for long periods.
However, Ruben Amorim also had a number of absentees against Spurs, with Victor Lindelof the only senior player on a bench full of academy graduates.
When this was put to Ange Postecoglou, the Australian was in no mood to get the violin out.
What Ange Postecoglou said about Ruben Amorim
The 59-year-old said: βHeβs had to play players out of position and have kids on the bench? Welcome to my world. Itβs one game. Try doing that for two months, but I thought Man United were good today.β
If the media wanted any manager in the country to feel sympathetic towards Amorim, Postecoglou would be their last hope to show any such emotion after what the Tottenham boss has dealt with this season.
Spurs were even missing 11 senior players at one stage recently.
Tottenham are bossing Manchester United around this season
Before Sunday, no side since Chelsea in the 2012/13 campaign had recorded three wins against Manchester United within a single season, until now.

Having already defeated Manchester United 3-0 at Old Trafford back in September, before recording a 4-3 Carabao Cup win in December, Spurs can now boast three victories over the Red Devils this term.
