Tottenham Hotspur boss Ange Postecoglou has confirmed that Oliver Skipp will get more opportunities to play in the coming weeks.
Spurs have had a solid season so far. They’ve recovered well after going five games without a win, and they look like the force they were at the start of the campaign. Skipp has barely played so far, but he is set to get more game time at Tottenham in the coming weeks.

Ange Postecoglou promises more game time to Tottenham’s Oliver Skipp
Oliver Skipp has been at Tottenham since the age of five.
The £40,000-a-week (Spotrac) Englishman came through the ranks at Spurs and is loved by everyone at the club. He is a very good player and has shown his quality on numerous occasions at the top level already.
Skipp hasn’t played a lot this season. The 23-year-old has started just once in the Premier League all campaign, but he has made consistent appearances off the bench.
Ange Postecoglou was asked about his midfielder, and the Spurs boss seems to rate him highly. He confirmed that Skipp will be used more in the coming games and even more next month when Yves Bissouma goes away for AFCON.
He said, as per Football London: “Yeah I think Skippy can play at six for sure. Obviously, we’ve had Pierre there and Biss, even Bentancur when he came back, so there is a fair bit of flexibility on who we use there.
“Yeah, Skippy has had an important role for us. Most of the time he has been coming on in games where we need some energy further up the park and that’s the role he has fulfilled, but he can play at six and probably will play there.
“We have three games over the next week so he probably will get an opportunity at some point in that position and with Biss being away pretty much until the end of January, I am sure we will use him in that space.”

Skipp could still become a star at Tottenham
Oliver Skipp has always been viewed as a player with huge potential at Tottenham, but he just hasn’t been able to explode yet.
The 23-year-old has almost everything you’d want from a defensive midfielder. He’s good on the ball, strong off it and can also score from distance. He has shown really positive signs every time he has played.
Yves Bissouma is clearly ahead of Skipp in the pecking order, as is Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg. However, the Mali international will be gone all January, while there is a chance the Dane could leave the club next month too.
With Rodrigo Bentancur still injured, Skipp could become the main man for Tottenham in that number six role, and if he plays to his potential, he could become a star under Postecoglou.
