Ange Postecoglou now likely to start ‘incredible’ Tottenham player vs Bournemouth today

Giovani Lo Celso is reportedly set to start for Tottenham Hotspur against Bournemouth today.

Tottenham suffered a 4-2 defeat at Brighton on Thursday after a lacklustre display at the Amex Stadium.

It took Ange Postecoglou’s men 80 minutes to stamp their authority on the game, by which time they found themselves 4-0 down.

Spurs threatened to mount a stunning comeback against the Seagulls and certainly had the required chances to pick up a point, with Alejo Veliz and Ben Davies getting on the scoresheet.

It’s no secret that Postecoglou’s squad has been ravaged by injuries of late, with several key players sidelined.

Dejan Kulusevski will miss today’s clash against Bournemouth as he picked up his fifth yellow card of the campaign after giving away a penalty at Brighton.

And according to The Evening Standard, it looks as if Giovani Lo Celso will be the man to replace the Swede in midfield.

Lo Celso likely to replace Kulusevski in Tottenham XI

The Standard reports that Lo Celso is ‘likely’ to replace Kulusevski in the middle of the park today.

Kulusevski has operated in a central role over the past few weeks in a bid to provide some much-needed creativity in James Maddison’s absence.

The 23-year-old has excelled in his new role but Spurs will have to find a way to create opportunities without him in the side.

Postecoglou has already suggested that Lo Celso could replace Kulusevski in the side as Spurs face Bournemouth today.

The Argentine had netted two goals in three starts before dropping back to the bench in the 4-1 win over Newcastle earlier this month.

Lo Celso has proven to be a useful player for Postecoglou and the ‘incredible’ midfielder has shown glimpses of his quality this term.

Tottenham will be relying on the 27-year-old to step up today, especially with their main creator Kulusevski ruled out.
