Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou had some praise for his striker Richarlison but admitted he wants to see more as well.

Richarlison has roared back to life in recent weeks with an impressive goal haul. His strike against Everton yesterday means it’s now four in three for the Brazilian.

Richarlison has won praise from teammates for his recent form. Heung-Min Son admitted that the striker is like a new player, while Brennan Johnson also admitted that the Spurs wingers have huge confidence in the Brazilian’s finishing.

And speaking about the striker to the BBC yesterday, Tottenham boss Postecoglou admitted he was happy, but wanted more from his number nine.

Ange Postecoglou wants to see even more Richarlison

Speaking about a number of his players after the Everton game, ‘Big Ange’ praised Richarlison but also claimed there’s much more to come as well.

“He obviously missed a bit of football with his operation but he’s getting stronger every game. His general play has been really good but I know there’s more to come,” Postecoglou said.

Richarlison can get better

The key for Tottenham’s now main striker is going to be keeping fit. The last 12 months has been problematic for him in that sense but at the moment, he looks to have put it behind him.

Richarlison has proven with Everton in the past that he can more than do it at Premier League level.

For Tottenham, it will feel like a huge bonus seeing ‘Richy’ back in such form. It’s like a new signing really and that bodes well for the rest of the season.

Postecoglou is also being smart with his comments here. Yes, he’s happy to praise his man but he also doesn’t want him to rest on his laurels and clearly demands more from his players.

Richarlison’s goals are proving crucial right now and with James Maddison and Manor Solomon due to return in the new year, things are looking up for Spurs right now.
