In what proved an excellent comeback win for Tottenham Hotspur against Brentford, Ange Postecoglou wasn’t entirely happy.
Spurs started the game fairly slowly by their standards, allowing Brentford far too much space in their own half.

However, after the break Tottenham looked much more like a Postecoglou side, displaying their trademark attacking fair.
The introduction of Brennan Johnson seemed a vital one, changing the dynamic of Spurs’ front line.
And although Tottenham were clinical for a 15 minute period, Postecoglou was clearly becoming frustrated with some of the chances his side were missing.
Dejan Kulusevski has often been told he needs to be more clinical in front of goal by pundits and fans alike this season.
And it was around the 57th minute when the Swede particularly frustrated his manager.
Seen on TNT Sports’ live coverage of the game, Postecoglou looked absolutely furious on the touchline when Kulusevski made an entry in the box and chose not to shoot.
The Swede had cut in from the right, by decided an ill-advised faint when he should have tested Mark Flekken.
Ange Postecoglou left really frustrated with Dejan Kulusevski in Tottenham win over Brentford
Postecoglou struggled to hide his frustration in his technical area, turning to his staff in dismay.
Of course, it does feel as if improving his end product will be the vital next step in Kulusevski’s game.

The winger has made so much progress since he first joined in 2022, eventually signing permanently for £25m.
And whilst his work rate is among the best in the league, something Postecoglou clearly admires, he will need to improve his output to remain in the starting eleven.
That may sound harsh given what Kulusevski has achieved this season, but it’s the reality of how quickly Spurs are progressing, and how well those around him are doing.
All this being said, it was still a stellar win for Tottenham against an impressive Brentford side, and Postecoglou will be happy on reflection.
And once the dust settles from the game, it’ll be interesting to see if Spurs rekindle a deal for a player who now seems keen to join.
