Tottenham Hotspur are now just hours away from returning from their pre-season tour of Asia.

Ange Postecoglou‘s side have made a seriously impressive start to the summer on the pitch with four wins from four.

Away from the pitch, Tottenham have not enjoyed as much success in the transfer window with only one new player signed who’ll be available for the season opener in two weeks time.

As well as retaining Timo Werner on loan, Yang Min-hyeok has signed from Gangwon FC, but the South Korean will return to his homeland until January.

It has remained a busy summer in terms of departures with Daniel Levy overseeing nine exits already.

But there could also be some contract news heading the way of Tottenham fans with Postecoglou potentially dropping a hint in Friday’s press conference.

‘Incredible’ Tottenham player could be set to sign new contract

One first team player whose contract is set to expire next summer is defender Ben Davies who recently marked 10 years at the club.

There is also the likes of Giovani Lo Celso and Sergio Reguilon, but there will be the hope at Spurs that these two players can be moved on this summer.

Tottenham have seen a number of players leave this summer following the end of their contracts with the club.

However, there is one other player who could be set to extend his stay beyond the summer of 2025.

Speaking from his press conference in Seoul, South Korea on Friday, Postecoglou hinted towards Heung-min Son‘s contract extension getting done.

That’s not really my area. I’ve always, with contract situations, treated them all the same. Ben and Sonny are important players at the club and we’ve got a young squad,” Postecoglou told football.london when asked about Davies’ and Son’s contracts.

“When it comes to contract matters, that will get sorted out at the appropriate time.”

The 32-year-old, Son, will also celebrate 10 years at Tottenham next summer in what has truly been a magical story in north London.

Will Heung-min Son sign a new Tottenham contract?

TBR Football understands that Heung-min Son would be keen to sign a new contract at Tottenham this summer.

The ‘incredible‘ Spurs captain has enjoyed nine successful years in north London and the forward has come out of the 2023/24 campaign having provided 27 goal contributions in the Premier League.

Son’s agents have already held talks with those at the top in Tottenham with those talks expected to have developed this summer.

Postecoglou would not want to lose a player of Son’s quality and there is no doubt the Spurs board will want to cover the possibility of losing Son on a free next year.
