Ange Postecoglou hands ‘brilliant’ player second start of Premier League season… Early Tottenham predicted XI vs Everton

Ange Postecoglou will be bidding to deliver a third consecutive win in the Premier League when Tottenham face Everton on Saturday.

The Aussie boss has picked up recent wins over Newcastle and Nottingham Forest after Spurs had failed to pick up a win in five games beforehand.

Tottenham have slipped down to fifth in the table following injuries to a host of key players. But Ange Postecoglou is slowly getting his best XI back on the pitch, despite being without Rodrigo Bentancur, James Maddison and Micky van de Ven.

However, he faces a key decision in the middle of the park this weekend after Yves Bissouma’s red card against Forest.

The Mali international was sent off for a reckless challenge on Ryan Yates and will miss the next four games before heading off to AFCON 2024.

Oliver Skipp was the first player to be called upon by the Aussie boss on Friday as he replaced Brennan Johnson after the Welshman suffered a cut.

And after an impressive display at the City Ground, we think he should get the nod to replace Bissouma on Saturday.

Tottenham predicted XI for Everton

Guglielmo Vicario made a couple of exceptional saves at Forest on Friday as Spurs were tasked with seeing out a win after being reduced to 10 men.

The Italian looks set to continue his run in the side. But there will be at least one change at the back.

Indeed, Destiny Udogie will miss the game after picking up his fifth booking of the season against Forest. It could lead to Emerson Royal playing at left-back, with Cristian Romero and Ben Davies continuing in at centre-back.

Of course, Pedro Porro should earn yet another start after his exceptional form under Postecoglou.

Postecoglou will likely choose between Skipp and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg to replace Bissouma on Saturday.

Hojbjerg has put in some decent performances from the bench but has failed to impress when given the opportunity from the off. As for Skipp, he impressed after replacing Johnson on Friday.

While the ‘brilliant’ midfielder is yet to play as the No6 in Postecoglou’s side, that has been his most comfortable position throughout his career.

Alongside Skipp, Dejan Kulusevski may get the opportunity to play centrally once again should Johnson be ready to feature. Starting Pape Matar Sarr feels like a must for Spurs at the moment as his return has highlighted just how important he is.

The front three of Heung-Min Son, Richarlison and Brennan Johnson has also shown promise over the past couple of weeks.
