Tottenham Hotspur take on Wolves in the Premier League tomorrow, and Ange Postecoglou could deploy Dejan Kulusevski in a different position.

Spurs have had a terrible week, haven’t they? Not only did they lose their unbeaten record in the Premier League, but they also lost the likes of Micky van de Ven, Cristian Romero, James Maddison and Destiny Udogie to injuries and suspensions. Postcoglou now has a few tough decisions to make.

Ange Postecoglou could use Dejan Kulusevski in Tottenham’s midfield

Tottenham have been great to watch this season, and one of the biggest reasons for that is James Maddison pulling the strings as the number 10.

The Englishman joined the club from Leicester City in the summer, and he has been brilliant. He is easily one of the best players in the Premier League, but Spurs will have to do without him tomorrow.

Ange Postecoglou revealed in his press conference today that Maddison could be out of action due to an ankle injury until the end of this year.

That is a massive blow for Spurs, and Postecoglou now has to think about who will replace Maddison in that attacking midfield role.

Our pick would be Dejan Kulusevski. The Swede is more than capable of playing as a number 10, and he has the vision and creativity to fill the void that Maddison has left.

Kulusevski would also be comfortable switching positions in-game, which makes him a lot more unpredictable than someone like Giovani Lo Celso, for example. That makes Spurs even more dangerous in attack.

Change in position could help Kulusevski

One of the only criticisms about Dejan Kulusevski’s game at Tottenham is that his output isn’t great.

For a player as talented as he is, a return of five goals since the start of last season is a shocking record – it’s exactly as bad as Richarlison‘s tally in the same period.

Moving Kulusevski to a more central role could help the talented 23-year-old find himself in much better areas than he could out wide.

That could help him add more goals and assists to his game, which is exactly what Tottenham need in the coming weeks in Maddison’s absence.
