Andy Townsend claimed during TalkSPORT’s coverage of Arsenal’s win over Leeds, that Marcelo Bielsa was fuming with Tyler Roberts on the sidelines.
Leeds failed to book their place in the quarter-finals of the competition, as Arsenal ran out 2-0 winners at The Emirates. Leeds are still not clicking.
Substitute Calum Chambers opened the scoring, before Eddie Nketiah – against his old side – made it 2-0 after a mistake from captain Liam Cooper.
Roberts, 22, started up top for Leeds with Patrick Bamford still out injured. But he was largely ineffective, and was taken off after 53 minutes

Townsend, on co-comms for TalkSPORT, shared the moment Bielsa decided to take Roberts off – replacing the Wales international with Joe Gelhardt.
In possession in Arsenal’s half, Roberts needed to hold the ball-up. But he lost it, which prompted Bielsa to turn round angrily and bring Gelhardt on.
“Roberts lost the ball; Bielsa was not happy. He threw his arms into the air in disgust, immediately turned round and told Gelhardt to get ready.”
Townsend on Bielsa and Roberts: Is Gelhardt overtaking Leeds man?

Gelhardt has enjoyed a brilliant start to 21-22. In seven Premier League 2 games, he has six goals – and has made his debut for the senior side.
Scoring a penalty against Fulham in the shootout beforehand, he came on for 40 minutes against Arsenal. On Saturday, he was brilliant for Leeds.
Once again, as a sub, he went on a Lionel Messi-esque run to win a penalty for Leeds in the 93rd minute. Rodrigo scored, saving a point for Leeds.
Roberts, meanwhile, has one goal and two assists in 37 Premier League games. Hardly enough for a player that plays up top, or as a 10.
