Liverpool came from behind to secure a crucial point at Arsenal this evening as they put a major dent in the Gunners’ title aspirations.
A late goal from Mohamed Salah – who had been quiet throughout – levelled things at The Emirates and ensured the Gunners are now five points behind Manchester City after just nine games.
For Liverpool, a point way from home at a title rival will feel a huge bonus and given they weren’t at their best, Arne Slot will welcome it.
Of course, Liverpool are always a threat and while ever it’s just a goal in it, the Reds can turn things around.
The goal from Salah was an example of this, with Trent Alexander-Arnold producing a fine pass for Darwin Nunez to find Salah to slot home.
Indeed, the pass from Alexander-Arnold caught the eye of Andy Townsend on pundit duty.

Trent Alexander-Arnold praised for ‘perfect’ pass for Liverpool v Arsenal
Speaking on the game for Premier League Productions, former Aston Villa man Andy Townsend lauded the pass from Alexander-Arnold and labelled the goal ‘brilliant’.
“And he finally produces a proper ball, a ball that we expect from Trent. That was perfect. It released Darwin Nunez,” Townsend commented.
“Arsenal just got done with a ball in behind them, a great ball, a great comeback from Nunez. And that run from Mo Salah. Brilliant, brilliant goal.”
Alexander-Arnold produces yet another magic moment
Over the course of a season, especially if you are to win a title, you need your big players to produce when it matters and that’s just what Salah and Alexander-Arnold have done today.
With Alexander-Arnold, he is so often quiet in games but like he showed today, he has it in him to come up with fine passes that cut teams open.
Liverpool are going to need more of this throughout the season but on a day they were second best, they’ll be delighted by Alexander-Arnold’s contribution here.
